Little Behind:

Sorry about this weekend. I was traveling home from Canada, then had a family reunion and in the end I didnt even see the comic till later Saturday and didnt see the Sunday comic till we got back. In appologies, I gave you guys a double comic today combining both of the comics I would have done had I been on time. By the way, this counts as two comics in my book so as far as I am concerned, I am back on schedule. I am ahead anyway because I gave you guys two comics the week BO was moving ;).

Now as for that Poll for Burnout getting his own login for this comic, I have given it to him but he has not posted yet. Its time for everyone to go to the forums and pester him to start posting on both comics ;). Later.

Edit: Its been pointed out that BO did post on 10-27-06 at about 10pm on comic #99. If you notice, though, my comic the next day I added on 10-27-06 at about 4pm. This said, I never noticed BO posted because the next time I looked at my website, it was the next day and the next comic was up. Appologies to BO, but you can still pester him if you so choose :).

I did so post!:

Right here. Absolutely nobody noticed. :( (Well, I guess SOMEBODY did because they pointed it out.)

The sad part of this comic is that I've actually been thinking in the last week of getting a cat... orange tabby... and naming it Rand. I know, that's quite a geek factor. ( I adamantly refuse to call myself nerd though I wear the geek label proudly )

Geek!:

Interesting how there is a geek vs. nerd subculture in the world. I too label myself "Geek" and recoil at the label "Nerd."

Now you may wonder why I prefer Geek over Nerd...

Well, I'll tell you.

...

....

.....

I have no idea.

On a side note, my fiancee and I want to get a cat after we are married. Considering her allergies, I suspect that I am going to name the cat "Benadryl." Call him "Benny" for short.

Sound good?

GE-NERD-CAT:

I think the geek/nerd thing comes down to my own ideas of "geekhood".

There are all kinds of geeks. Computer geeks, film geeks, comic geeks, D&D geeks, sci-fi geek, fantasy geek. A geek is an afficianado of something. I am multi-geeky.

I can only describe a "nerd" with an example. In University, on Thursday nights (Pub night), a bunch of us guys said "Hey! Let's go out to the pub and have a drink". A geek says yes. A nerd says no. Always. I ascribe an aversion to "real life" to a "nerd".

This doesn't mean that you have to have this amazingly active social life to avoid nerdhood... merely that you have to be able to tear yourself away from the hard stuff and enjoy life a little. I have no doubt the "nerd" I'm thinking of is amazingly successful making oodles of cash... and has no life. Hoorah for him, but he's headed for a burnout...

*ahem*

Which is actually what friends in high school called me... cause I was like that. It was a running joke that I'd burn out by the time I was 30. Which I won't... 'cause I'm almost there.

As for cat names, may I humbly suggest for you 'Mad: Claritin (Clarry), Allegra (Alley [cat]), Clarinex (ummm.. howz about "Rex"), Actifed (Fed), Tylenol (Ty) or Flonase (Naze... betcha though I'd say "Flo").

Now, you'll have to excuse me. I have to go back to installing FreeBSD for my home web development environment.
